Udupi: Manipal police bust illegal prostitution racket, 3 held

Udupi, Feb 2: The inspector of Manipal police station has arrested three men who were allegedly forcing a woman into the flesh trade.

The inspector on duty in the police station upon getting information of a woman being persuaded and exploited for prostitution by a man near Pavitra Residency, Om Store, Ishwarnagar, has raided the spot with his staff and arrested an accused, identified as Pavan.

The police inspector as per Pavan's statement, obtained a search warrant from Udupi DSP and raided the house at Bommarabettu, Udupi and arrested two other accused Chetan C B and Panju. The accused were allegedly exploiting and forcing the woman into the flesh trade.

A case under crime registration No. 29/2024 under sections 3, 4, 5, 6 ITP Act and IPC section 370 was registered at Manipal police station in this connection.
