Udupi, Feb 1: Special decoration, Ashtothara Kalashabisheka, Brahmakumbabisheka, various religious and cultural programmes were held to Lord Naga on Wednesday on account of the Karanika Sri Nagasannidhya third Ashtapavithra Nagamandalotsava under the guidance of Jyotishi Vidwan Kabiyadi Jayarama Acharya.

Palimar math seer Sri Vidhyadheeshatheertha Sripada offered Pallapooje. Prasanna Pooja, various poojas and Aradhana were held. Nagarakshe thread was distributed to devotees after making it holy by sprinkling Gangajal brought from Kashi and Varanasi.

In the evening, Halittu Seve and attractive public Gangarati by the expert team of priests who arrived from Varanasi were held in the evening.

Sthothras were played on Veenas by 108 musicians wearing yellow and red sarees under the direction of Vidwan Pavana B Achar on the Sri Vishweshatheertha dias. Rhythm Pad, Tala and Tamboori players accompanied the Veena players. 108 sthothras of lord Naga, Navanaga sthuthi and other Namavalis of Lord Naga were presented by the Veena players.

Purushotham P Shetty, executive president of organizing committee, Yashpal Suvarna, organizing president, Ganesh Rao, vice president, Udaya Kumar Shetty Kediyoor, Hiryanna T Kediyoor, Hariyappa Kotian, Ramesh Kanchan, Nayana Ganesh, honorary director Shashidhar Shetty Ermal, Dr Vijayendra Vasanta Rao, Yuvaraj Salian Muscat, treasurer Vilas Kumar, joint secretaries Ramesh Kidiyoor, Prakash Jattan, joint treasurer Dinakara, members of committee, well wishers eminent personalities, office bearers and member of various organizations, volunteers, staff and thousands of devotees took part in the event.
