Sullia: Aranthodu vented dam slab collapses, couple injured

Sullia, Jan 31: A couple was injured when a slab of the 45-year-old vented dam broke and fell at Kalubailu near Deraje of Aranthodu village.

Chandraprakash and his wife Vedavati, a resident of Deraje Kalubailu, were walking back through the vented dam after going to work in their rubber plantation, when the slab of the dam suddenly broke.

Both of them fell to a depth of about 15 feet and got injured. Locals immediately rushed to the spot and picked him up from there and admitted them to Sullia hospital.

Vedavathi's leg fractured in the incident and is undergoing treatment in the hospital. Chandraprakash escaped with minor injuries.
