Mangaluru: YIASCM inaugurates Yen-Scribes, Journalism & Media Club

Mangaluru, Jan 30: The department of humanities and social sciences, Yenepoya (deemed to be University) held grand inauguration ceremony of the YEN-SCRIBES, Journalism and Digital Media Club turning the spotlight on an upcoming Tulu film, Gabbar Singh. The event was graced by the presence of the renowned Gabbar Singh team, adding a touch of glamour and excitement to the occasion. The film's lead actors, Sharan Shetty and Vencita, along with the antagonist Girish Shetty, and other team members, were the focal points of attention.

The event commenced with a warm welcome to the Gabbar Singh team, who added an extra layer of excitement to the gathering. Sharan Shetty, the male protagonist, and Vencita, the female protagonist, exuded charm and charisma as they shared insights into their roles and experiences working on the film. Girish Shetty, portraying the villain, showcased his acting prowess, leaving the audience intrigued about his character's nuances. Uday Alva, leading actor and Madhu Suratkal, script writer graced the event with their presence.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of the principal, Dr Arun A Bhagawath, who addressed the gathering with words of encouragement and appreciation for the Journalism and Media club's initiative. He emphasized the importance of media and journalism in today's dynamic world, encouraging students to actively participate and contribute to the field.

The vice principal, Dr Shareena P, Dr Jeevan Raj, and the head of the department, Dr Sakeena Nasser, also attended the event, showing their support for the budding journalists and media enthusiasts. Faculty coordinator Deekshitha Prashanth and other faculty members were present, highlighting the academic backing for the club and its endeavours.

The Gabbar Singh team engaged in a lively interaction session with the audience, sharing anecdotes from the film's shooting, discussing the challenges faced, and expressing their excitement about the upcoming release. The event provided a unique platform for students to connect with professionals in the industry and gain insights into the world of Tulu cinema.

As the Yen-Scribes Journalism and Media Club embarked on its journey, the inauguration ceremony left an indelible mark, combining the worlds of academia and entertainment. As part of the inauguration ceremony, Yen-Scribes Journalism and Media Club in observation of cherished Republic Day, hosted a vibrant and patriotic ‘My Nation My Pride’ collage making contest. The event aimed to provide a creative platform for participants to express their love and pride for the nation through the art of collage. The collage making contest proved to be a successful endeavour, with 16 teams participating and fostering a sense of patriotism and artistic expression. The event not only celebrated Republic Day but also showcased the creative spirit and diversity within the YIASCM community.
