Udupi: Vacating of Bhagawad banner at Mandya – BJP stages protests

Udupi, Jan 29: The Udupi district unit of BJP staged protests in front of its party office on Monday against the incumbent Congress-run state government.

BJP district president Kishore Kumar Kundapura said that Chief Minister  Siddaramaiah has hurt Hindus during the inauguration of Ayodhya Rama Mandira. “We will not remain quiet if we are irritated repeatedly. We too have the strength of our activists. We will have to stage mass protests if the state government continues such a policy,” he warned.

“The state Congress government is repeatedly conducting atrocities against the Hindus. The vacating of the Hanuman banner erected by BJP at Mandya has hurt the sentiments of Hindus,” he said.

District BJP media convener Srinidhi Hegde, Mangaluru block in-charge Uday Kumar Shetty, district spokesperson Raghavendra Kini, Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha constituency election in-charge Kuthyar Navin Shetty, BJP state ladies morcha chief secretary Shilpa Suvarna, district ladies morcha president Veena Shetty, Raitha morcha district president Pravin Kumar Gurme, state ST morcha secretary Umesh Naika, minority morcha district president Davood Aboobacker, various office-bearers and party workers were present.

The protesters went to the deputy commissioner’s office at Manipal and submitted a memorandum condemning the actions of the state government. The additional deputy commissioner received the memorandum on behalf of the deputy commissioner.
