Kundapura, Jan 29: “Panchaganga train is the lifeline for employees of the coastal region. Its timetable is the main reason for its success. Therefore, additional coaches should be added to the train without changing its timetable,” urged Ganesh Putran, president of Railu Prayanikara Hitarakshana Samithi.

“The railway ministry has been saying for a long time that the train will be delayed if extra coaches are added to it. Therefore, the timetable of the train should be not be changed for any reason whatsoever if extra coaches are added to it,” he warned.

“People are likely to get stuck in the Bengaluru traffic and will have to take a day’s leave even if the train is delayed by five minutes. There are complaints in the social media that Konkan Railways has colluded with some private lobbies. There are suspicions expressed that there is a conspiracy to change the timing of Panchaganga train after adding additional bogies. The demand for the train will not decrease even if more bogies are added. An extra train will solve the problem. Bogies can be added to other trains also if ghat issues are resolved. Violent protests will be held if the timetable of the Panchaganga train is changed,” he said.
