Kasargod, Jan 28: The Confraternity Sunday was celebrated with devotion and joy on January 28 at St Thomas the Apostle Church, Kollangana.
The traditional confraternity Sunday was observed with high mass and eucharistic devotion. Fr Rony Serrao, the rector of St Joseph's seminary, Jeppu, Mangaluru was the main celebrant and con-celebrant was Fr Rithesh Rodrigues, the parish priest.

Fr Rony Serrao, in his homily, elucidated the theme saying, "Today we are celebrating confraternity feast.  It reminds us we have a bond with each other as parishioners. Early Christians celebrated it amidst the persecution. We celebrate it as the sacrifice of Christ for our redemption. Let the Eucharist be our centre of our devotion and let's serve each other with love and concern."

The eucharistic adoration was held at the end of the ceremony. The eucharistic celebration was followed by the procession of blessed sacrament, where a large number of devotees took part in it. The musical band, the melodious choir, the prayerful singing of the parishioners, the children dressed in all white and the colourful decoration added magnificence to the entire celebration. Overall, the confraternity procession was a visually and emotionally impactful expression of religious commitment and community solidarity, reinforcing the sense of shared values and faith among the participants.
At the end of the procession, a solemn eucharistic benediction was given as the final blessing.
