Kundapur, Jan 27: Taluk working journalists’ association condemned the act of pushing and sending out media who were making video of Congress workers who were expressing anguish over their leaders in the Congress workers’ meet of Kundapur legislative constituency assembly that was held on Saturday.

Media was making video of a Congress party worker who was talking about the leaders of the party of the taluk and expressing his unhappiness. District executive president Kishan Hegde Kolkebailu, who was sitting on the dais came down and prevented the media person from filming and also pushed the journalists. This created tension for some time.

District incharge minister Laxmi Hebbalkar, MLC Manjunath Bhandary, Congress president Ashok Kumar Kodavoor, Kundapur block Congress president Hariprasad Shetty Kanmakki, Kota block Congress president Shankar Kunder and other two block leaders did not prevent Kishan Hegde from pushing and preventing filming of the video. Later, minister laxmi Hebbalkar asked the media to go out from the meeting directly before beginning her speech. This has violated he freedom of journalists.

Media friends of Kundapur participate in all the programmes that are held in the taluk by various political parties in a cordial manner. However, the bad manners of Congress party leaders have brought pain to the minds of the journalists. The journalists’ association has urged minister Laxmi Hebbalkar, district working president Kishan Hegde and presidents of two blocks of Congress have to ask public apology.
