Udupi: Seminar on English Grammar held at Trinity Central School

Udupi, Jan 27: Trinity Central School organized a three-day workshop on English Grammar from January 22 to 24. The session was conducted by Prof. Raju Victor. The informative session was organized to the students of Grade 9.

Day 1 session was filled with several group activities like self introduction, ice breaking session in order to draw the attention & interest of the students to the topic. Post lunch, the resource person described the articles in English grammar and their correct usages through another set of activities.

 

Day 2 session started afresh with some activities and in the morning session the resource person explained subject- verb agreement and tenses in English grammar and made the session interesting with a lot of fun activities. The afternoon session was filled with the students writing the description on a picture & developing a story, the session also concentrated more on the activities which help to increase the communication skills and logical thinking of the students which might help them in future.

Day 3 session began with the discussion of the concepts that were learnt in the last session followed by the tenses in English grammar with examples and activities related to it. To improve the speaking skill and questioning skills group activities were assigned.

The afternoon session began with the word games to test students’ vocabulary skills.

The three days workshop was concluded with a vote of thanks by Preetha Furtado and words of gratitude and honouring the resource person was done by the principal Fr Dominic Sunil Lobo.
