Udupi: Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) celebrates 75th Republic Day

Udupi, Jan 27: Manipal Academy of Higher Education celebrated its 75th Republic Day on January 26.The event was held at KMC Greens to commemorate the implementation of the Constitution through spectacular pageantry of parade and eloquent addressment.

Nineteen institutions were led by their contingent commander and were guided by their faculty coordinator to participate in the celebration. The celebration witnessed over 5000 audiences including the students of all the institutions.

 

The program began with the welcome address followed by unfurling the National flag by the Pro-Chancellor Dr. H S Ballal followed by National anthem. Dr. N N Sharma Pro Vice Chancellor - Strategy and Planning, MAHE, Manipal delivered the Republic Day message. The entire event was conducted by Dr. Padmaraj Hegde Dean, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal

Vice Chancellor, Lt Gen (Dr) M D Venkatesh, Dr. Narayana Sabhahit Pro Vice Chancellor (Technology & Science), Dr. P. Giridhar Kini, Registrar, heads of Institutions and senior officials and staff members of MAHE, were present during the occasion.

Health sciences institutions like Kasturba Medical College, Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal College of Nursing, Manipal School of Nursing, Manipal College of Health Professionals, Science and Research institutions like Manipal School of Life Sciences, International Center for Applied Sciences, Technical Science institutions like Manipal Institution of Technology, Management institutions like T A Pai Management Institute, Manipal Institute of Management, and other reputed institutions like Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Welcome Group Graduate School of Hotel Administration, Department of Commerce took part in this celebration with full galore and pride.

After the gallant parade of the contingents from across 18 institutions, the best three contingents were awarded. The contingent of Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal bagged the 1st best contingent. Kasturba Medical College, Manipal was awarded the 2nd best contingent, Manipal Institute of Communication (MIC) and Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal, (MCODS) bagged the 3rd best contingent award. The celebration ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Kanthilatha Pai Associate Dean, KMC, Manipal. The event was also broadcast live for all to witness the ceremony. Manipal Academy of Higher Education as an Institution of Eminence celebrates every National event with great enthusiasm and grandeur. The event was celebrated respectfully promising to keep MAHE’s pride and love for our country as strong as ever.
