Udupi gears up for fruits & flower exhibition from Jan 26 to 28

Udupi, Jan 24: The district administration, zilla panchayat, and the department of horticulture are set to organize a fruits and flower exhibition at the Flower Auction Center in Doddanagudde from January 26 to January 28, said deputy commissioner, Dr Vidyakumari.

The inauguration of the exhibition is scheduled for 8:30 am on January 26 and will be done by Lakshmi R Hebbalkar, the minister for women and children development, empowerment of differently abled and senior citizens, and Udupi district in-charge minister. Local MPs, MLAs, and other dignitaries are expected to participate in the event.

The exhibition will showcase 4,500 to 5,000 saplings of 25 to 30 varieties, including Petunia, Vergina, Smalya, Jasmine, Ball Flower, Jinia, China Asmar, Balam, Torino, Vinka Rosia, Dahlia, among others, displayed in pots. Present at the announcement were DC Dr Vidyakumari, Udupi zilla panchayat chief executive Prathik Behl, officials from the horticulture department, and others.
