Mangaluru: Srinivas University's annual sports meet held

Mangaluru, Jan 24: "Sports play an important role in increasing the level of knowledge and improving health among the students," said the pri judge of Mangaluru family court Abhay Dhanpal Chougala.

He spoke at the inauguration of the annual sports event held under the auspices of Srinivas University and Srinivas Group of Colleges at Mangala Stadium on January 24.

Addressing the students, he talked about his childhood sports activities and inspired them to boost their confidence.

Srinivas University pro-chancellor and A Shamarao Foundation vice president, Dr A Srinivas Rao in his presidential addressed that participation in sports is more important than winning and losing.

Srinivas University board of governors member Prof A Mitra S. Rao was present and told the students about the importance of physical fitness and sports.

Vice chancellor I/C and registrar of Srinivas University Dr Anil Kumar, evaluation registrar Dr Srinivasa Mayya D, development register Dr Ajay Kumar, annual sports meet convenor Dr Pavitra Kumari, physical director Supriya Adiga, deans, professors and students of the institute were present.

The programme was started by lighting a lamp. Registrar Srinivasa Mayya D welcomed the gathering, Registrar Dr Ajay Kumar conveyed the vote of thanks. Prof Rohan Fernandes and prof Steven Robert Tellis compered the programme.
