Udupi: President kept in dark, used for namesake – Vinay Kumar Sorake

Udupi, Jan 23: “The President of the country is kept in dark and is made to sit on the chair for namesake,” said Congress leader Vinay Kumar Sorake.

Sorake was speaking at the protest rally that was organized to condemn attack on Rahul Gandhi at Assam during Nyay Jodo Yatra.

Sorake further said, “Autocratic rule is prevailing in India. In parliament members are not given opportunity to speak. All the works done by the union government are against the constitution. Hatred is sown among the religions and communities. The CBI, Enforcement Directorate, and Election Commission are used to eradicate opposition political parties. The youth, who entered the parliament to protest against unemployment, are arrested. But no action is taken against the MP who provided passes for the accused youth to enter the parliament.

“Religious politics is played using God. Though Swamiji of Shankaracharaya math objected the Prana Pratishta of Lord Ram as the mandir is incomplete, it was overruled and pratista is done. This is done just to get political mileage. The PM does not respond when shameful incidents have taken place in Manipur,” he said.

Congress leader Prasad Raj Kanchan said, “This is a black day for Congress. BJP is trying to put obstacles for Nyay Jodo yathra of our leader Rahul Gandhi because of fear that Congress will win in the coming Lok Sabha elections. Congress gave equal opportunities to all during its 60 years of rule. BJP has shown strange behaviour by pelting stones on the procession of our leader Rahul Gandhi. The more BJP troubles us the more we get inspired.”

Kodavoor district Congress president Ashok Kumar Kodavoor, executive president Kishan Hegde Kolkebailu, block Congress president Ramesh Kanchan, Dinakar Herur, leaders Amrit Shenoy, Neere Krishna Shetty, Dinesh Puthran, M A Gaffoor, Veronica Cornelio, Roshni Olivera, Jyoti Hebbar, Harish Kini, Yatish Karkera, Deepak Kotian Inna, Prakhyath Shetty and others were present.
