Mangaluru: Auto rickshaw driver feeds fruits to monkeys in Lord Rama's name

Mangaluru, Jan 22: An auto rickshaw driver, who is a resident of Deralakatte, Adyar fed fruits to monkeys on the day of Ramlalla installation at Ayodhya today. He said that he is expressing his gratitude for getting saved miraculously without getting injured during the two accidents he had and prayed to Srirama.

Presently, Rajesh Kairangala, the devotee hailing from Kairangala, stays in a rented house at Madyar. He has been running an auto for the last 30 years from Deralakatte K S Hegde Rickshaw Park.

He has been setting aside a portion of his earnings for social work. He had returned a purse left behind by a passenger once. He ferries the poor and the sick freely in his vehicle. He stays with his wife, a son and a daughter.

He said that his auto had veered at Bondel a few years ago. "I prayed to Srirama and he saved me and the passengers. I had called Srirama for help when I met with an accident while driving a lorry and was rescued," he said.

He was the BJP booth president at Kairangala and now works as a party worker.
