Mangaluru: Kankanady police station inspector suspended

Mangaluru, Jan 19: Inspector Bajantri of Kankanady town police station, has been suspended, effective January 12, following a report from the immediate supervising officer.

The major complaints against him include failure to take strict action against illegal sand mining and other illicit activities within Kankanady Town limits, negligence in reporting to senior officers, and failure to take decisive action against active rowdies involved in criminal activities within the police station limits.

An inquiry will be conducted to substantiate or disprove these charges, based on which further suitable action will be taken.
