Puttur: St Philomena College holds ‘Philo Freesia 2K24’ talents day

Puttur Jan 11: The centre for PG studies and research at St Philomena College, organized ‘PHILO FREESIA -2K24’ talents’ day at the SJM Hall of the college on January 9. The event is aimed to encourage students to participate in extracurricular activities alongside their academic commitments, fostering the development of well-rounded personalities.

The president of the programme, Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, the principal of the college, emphasized that everyone possesses a unique talent in which they excel. He stated, “Today is the day to embrace that ability and showcase it. Involving oneself in various activities amidst busy study schedules will contribute to the formation of personality.”

Fr Stany Pinto, the campus director of the college and the guest of honour for the event, highlighted that organizing a talents’ day in the college provides the best platform for students to exhibit their hidden potential. It offers an opportunity to showcase individual talents and appreciate the unique abilities of others.

Sheetal Kumar, the student welfare officer, welcomed and the vote of thanks was proposed by Prithvi K, assistant professor in the department of commerce. Shreeraaga H and the team rendered prayer, and Devika M, second year MCom compered the programme.

The students from various departments showcased their cultural talents at Philo Freesia 2k24.
