Mangaluru, Jan 9: St Aloysius College Mangaluru, in collaboration with St Claret College, Ziro Arunachal Pradesh, organized the 'Cultural Ambassadors' programme on January 9 at St Aloysius College Mangaluru.

Fr Praveen Martis SJ, principal of St Aloysius College, expressed his delight during his presidential speech, saying, "I'm sure everyone enjoyed this evening. This was an unexpected plan. When they said that they are coming to St Aloysius, I was really happy. It is also important to note that we are all Indians, and as they came from so far to teach us about their culture, it shows their dedication and love they have towards their culture."

Also present at the event was Dr Fr Allwyn Mendoz, principal of St Claret College, Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh, who expressed his gratitude, stating, "We are glad to get an opportunity to perform here at St Aloysius College. Until now, we have gone to Goa, and now in Mangalore, and we have plans to go till Mysore before January 18. I would like to extend my thanks to St Aloysius College, and I believe that both Karnataka and Arunachal Pradesh have strong cultural roots, and preserving them is essential. We have tried to showcase some rich traditional glimpses. I invite everyone to Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh."

When asked about the tour experience, Kenna Pertin and Dema Molo, students of St Claret College, Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh, shared with daijiworld.com, "In this tour, we are learning a lot about culture, and not only are we showcasing our culture, but we are also learning about the cultures of Karnataka. The experience has been interesting; it's really hot here. It's a complete change from Ziro, where the temperature goes up to zero degrees Celsius. We have completed the Goa tour, and yesterday we had a programme at St Agnes College, Mangaluru. And now we are at St Aloysius College, and we are happy about it."

This programme aimed to expose the students of St Aloysius Degree College to the culture of Arunachal Pradesh. As part of their South India tour, 30 students from Arunachal Pradesh showcased their talent through performances. They are currently touring South India, and for an event in Dakshina Kannada, they chose St Aloysius College.

On this occasion, Dr Allwyn D'Sa, registrar of St Aloysius College, Dr Ordetta Mendonca, coordinator of Academic Planning and Development, along with Fr Dency Alex Tharappel, a member of the Management Committee, Jamori Rera, Horrething Lungleng, faculty members of St Claret College, were present.
