Mangaluru: ‘FINOVA’ held at Yenepoya PU College

Mangaluru, Dec 20: The department of commerce at Yenepoya PU College, Jeppinamogaru organised a vibrant and intellectually stimulating event, FINOVA 2023-24 at the college auditorium on November 27-28.The fest aimed to provide a platform for students to showcase their talents, exchange ideas, and engage in healthy competition. The event brought together the participants, creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm and camaraderie.


 

FINOVA 2023-24 commenced with a grand inauguration ceremony that set the tone for the day. The distinguished guest for the fest was Rohit Castelino, HR leader Elsevier Technology. The principal of Yenepoya PU College Uzwal Rhodney Menezes, the campus coordinator Yvette Peirera, the dean of commerce Melwin Felix, the faculty members and students were present. The chief guest delivered an inspiring speech on the strategies to excel in the corporate sphere. The first day of FINOVA started with various events like event management, elevators' pitch, mehendi art and mock press. In event management, the students were able to foster the skills of planning, budgeting, time management, problem solving and creativity. This event was judged by the distinguished judge Rohit Castelino. In the event mock press, the students were able to focus on adaptability and development of both hard and soft skills. The students enjoyed the event under the judgement of Dawn Prakash, assistant professor, SDM College, who also delivered a speech on motivating the students to excel in their field of interest. The other events were judged by the faculties of the Sscience department of Yenepoya PU College.

On November 28 the day started with a guest talk by Mohammed Sheik Nihal, CEO, EYEQ DOT NET PVT LTD who spoke on raising awareness about cybercrimes. Ideation combat, intellectual gymnastics, jigsaw puzzle and ramp walk were the events of the day. Ideation combat was a brainstorming battle where the teams presented their ideas and competed to generate innovative ideas. The last event of the day was ramp walk where the participants showcased their modelling skills by walking on the ramp displaying the theme of ‘Party wear’.

FINOVA 2023-24 concluded with a valedictory programme where students infused a sense of festivity mood with their dance performance. This was also followed by prize distribution to the winners of the events. The fest was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impact on participants and attendees alike. FINOVA provided a platform for skill development, academic and cultural enrichment. It served as a catalyst for fostering collaboration, innovation and learning within the commerce domain. The fest served as a testament to the commitment of Yenepoya PU College to foster holistic development and academic excellence. The program concluded with the rendition of the national anthem.
