Mangaluru, Dec 19: A beach cleaning drive was conducted by NSS unit of NUCSER on the occasion of National Pollution Prevention Day on December 2.
Aligned to the SDG14 goals and theme for the year ‘Sustainable Development for a Clean and Healthy Planet’, to conserve marine life and help reduce plastic usage due to human activities along the coast, the NSS unit observed the National Pollution Prevention Day 2023. Volunteers and staff from NUCSER joined hands with the local panchayat at Someshwara beach with a cause to save beaches from pollution.
The programme was successful as the staff and students of NUCSER joined to clean the beaches and remove plastic thrown on the beaches. The director of NUCSER, Prof Dr Anirban Chakraborty spearheaded the cleanliness drive. The NSS programme officer of NUCSER Dr Rama Adiga coordinated and participated in the Swacchata drive.
