Mangaluru, Dec 4: The annual feast of St Joseph the Worker Church, Neermarga was celebrated with great devotion, zest and fervour on December 3.
Prior to the solemn concelebrated festal Mass, Fr Anil Lobo distributed candles of honour to all those who had contributed to the feast.
At the onset of the preparations for the Jubilee Year 2025, parish priest Fr Paul Pinto, along with the vice president of the parish pastoral council, Francis Gonsalves, and secretary Zita Usha Fernandes, officially unveiled the Jubilee logo. Zita Usha Fernandes elaborated the importance of the jubilee year 2025. The entire congregation joined in reciting the jubilee prayer.
Fr Gilbert D’Souza was the main celebrant of the High Mass which was con-celebrated by eight priests namely, Fr James DSouza vicar vara and parish priest of Vamanjoor church, Fr Paul Pinto, parish priest of Neermarga Church, Fr Kevin D Souza, Fr Roque D'Cunha, Fr Austin Fernandes, Fr Charles Menezes, Fr Anil Lobo and Fr Cyril Menezes.
The main theme set by Fr Paul Pinto, parish priest for the day was "Let us imitate the committed life of St Joseph and let’s incorporate the same level of commitment in our community service as well”. Fr Gilbert D’Souza, main celebrant, stressed the theme in his thought-provoking homily and appealed to everyone to be watchful and awake in the context of advent.
Parish priest, thanked all the priest who celebrated the Holy Mass and everyone for the support rendered towards the celebrations.
Fr James D’Souza the vicar vara thanked the parish priest for his his exemplary leadership and all the parishioners who participated in the Eucharistic celebration.
The parish choir added to the solemnity of the ceremony. Lishon Periera operated the LCD and luminous photographs were captured by Christopher DSouza.
The festal Mass, a jubilant celebration served as an expression of gratitude and thanksgiving. The liturgy unfolded a harmonious blend of religious tradition and heartfelt appreciation, creating a sacred space where the congregation collectively acknowledged and gave thanks to grace bestowed upon them.
