Jail Officials Transferred Following NRHM Scam

Lucknow, Sep 3: Facing flak from all quarters, state government transferred senior jail superintendent of Lucknow District Jail, SHA Rizvi and controversial jailor Bhimsen Mukund on Saturday September 3. Both the officials were under suspicion after the murder of Deputy Chief Medical Officer (DyCMO) Dr YS Sachan inside jail following multi crore National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) scam in the state.

The transfer were initiated as the NRHM scam probe along with the murder case has been handed over to CBI. The CBI officials had inspected the jail and even interrogated several jail officials and employees. However, jail authorities termed the transfer as a routine transfer. Rizvi was transferred to Basti and senior superintendent of Aligarh Jail, Sanjeev Tripathi was asked to take new assignment at Lucknow District Jail in the same capacity. RN Upadhya, posted at Jail
Directorate will now replace Tripathi at Aligarh. Similarly, the controversial jailer of Lucknow District Jail, Bhimsen Mukund was shifted to district jail in Mainpuri in place of RK Singh who will now swap place with Mukund.

UP has witnessed murder of three senior health officials including two CMOs Dr VK Arya and Dr BP Singh and one DyCMO Dr YS Sachan over the 3000 crore NRHM scam. Now the murders and scam is being probed by CBI.

Both the jail officials were under scanner. Mukund is closely linked to a MP from eastern region of the state and belonging to ruling BSP. Incidentally he was transferred to jail just two days before the murder of Dr Sachan.
