Udupi: Nejar murder accused shifted to Bengaluru central jail over security concern

Udupi, Nov 28: Praveen Chowgule, the accused in the quadruple murder that occurred at Nejar, was shifted to Parappana Agrahara central jail in Bengaluru on Monday.

Investigating officer Manjunatha Gowda had produced Praveen before the judge on November 23. Till then, accused Praveen was in police custody. He was in judicial custody till December 5. He was sent to Hiriadka district jail. Two policemen were provided outside his cell for security. However, he was shifted to Bengaluru due to security concern in Udupi after obtaining permission from higher officials.

All future investigation proceedings will happen through video conferencing. Accused Praveen will be brought to Udupi while filing chargesheet. All other process will be done through VC as per reliable sources.
