USA: Malayalees greeted on Onam

Nevada, USA, Sep 2: Hindu statesman Rajan Zed has sent early greetings to Malayalees world over on upcoming Onam festival, praying for their happiness, peace, and prosperity.
 
In a release in Nevada (USA) today, Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, expressed warmest wishes to Malayalees on 10-day ancient festival of Onam, which falls on September nine this year.
 
Rajan Zed urged them that in addition to celebrations on Onam; they should each take a vow of undertaking at least one charitable project in the future for less fortunate members of the community. Charity was duty of all of us and it should be undertaken with modesty and sympathy.
 
Onam festival marks the annual homecoming of highly regarded legendary King Mahabali; and intricate flower carpets Pookalam, nine-course Onasadya feast, swings, breathtaking Vallamkali Snake Boat races, Kaikottikali dances, etc., form part of it.
