Mangaluru: Organ donation, cancer awareness programme held at Dharma Jyothi Social Centre

Mangaluru, Nov 20: Dharma Jyothi Social Centre, Vamanjoor in collaboration with Mohan Foundation sponsored by SBI organized an awareness programme on organ donation and cancer awareness on November 19.

Ajith Davassya, the program officer of KMC Manipal and Dr Aravind, professor and cancer surgeon from Kanachur Hospital, Deralakatte were the resource persons. Ajith gave information about organ donation of brain death and how to make a donor card. Dr Aravind through power point presentation gave information on various types of cancer and drug addiction. He also spoke on suicidal prevention and holistic health. As many as 120 parents benefitted through the programme.

Sr Joel Lasrado SRA, the coordinator of Dharma Jyothi Social Centre, presided over the programme. Sunitha compered the programme and Leena Fernandes proposed vote of thanks. A meal was served to all the participants and also distributed health kit to each.
