Mangaluru, Sep 30: For young children understanding colour is essential as they will use their knowledge in various areas of learning. To make it more interesting St Agnes Preparatory School children celebrated Colours Day and Fruits Day on September 26.
The day started with a short cultural programme by invoking God's blessings. Tiny tots welcomed the gathering with their rhythmic dance. The tiny tots of Kg 1 entertained by an action song on fruits. Importance of colours was made known to all by Kg 2 kids. Action song and skit was performed by the little ones about colours.
The ambiance of the activity room gave a mesmerising feeling with colours and fruits with various attractive objects, crafts, tots and natural things. The curriculum too is planned to enable the children to experiment with a wide range of activities. The tiny tots also learnt more about the taste, smell, colour and texture of each fruit.
Watching the little ones carrying a fruit for salad-making activity was a pleasant sight. Children learnt watermelon craft of fruit, duck lollipop and strawberry to identify the colour as a part of the classroom activity.
Aarvi M G from Kg 2 compered the programme. Josna welcomed the principal, administrator and parents. Gulobia proposed a vote of thanks.
The occasion taught the children about the health benefits of fruit, nature’s most fantastic food.
