'Heroine': Kareena Kapoor to Get Rs 8 Crore?

Daijiworld Media Network

Mumbai, Aug 1: Ever since Aishwarya's pregnancy made headlines, Madhu Bhandarkar's 'Heroine' has been in the news for various reasons. Bollywood beauty Kareena Kapoor was said to be the first choice for the movie, supposed to release in March 2012. Later, Aishwarya Rai was chosen, much to Bebo's disappointment.

All of a sudden, Aishwarya's pregnancy news sent 'Heroine' for a toss, and thereafter a couple of other Bollywood beauties' names came up for the lead role. Now, UTV and Madhur Bhandarkar are said to have finalised Kareena's name. Though it was common knowledge the movie's female lead role would get the highest pay ever in the industry, the amount had not been disclosed.

Now, some sources have revealed the amount, but not confirmed. Some say that Rs 8 crore will be paid to Kareena, which is not only the highest for a lead actress, but naturally the highest for Kareena too.

Earlier, the producers of a Tamil movie had paid Rs 6 crore to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, it is learnt.

Indeed, 'Heroine' will set a precedent for lead female roles in Bollywood. But for now, it would be interesting to know what the exact amount would be!
