Newspaper Editor's Son Slain in Mexico

Mexico City, Jul 23 (IANS/EFE): The 25-year-old son of a newspaper editor in Mexico has been murdered, officials said.

Fermin Rosas Quezada, son of Fermin Rosas Rodriguez, editor of El Debate newspaper in the western city of Culiacan, was found dead inside his car, officials in the Sinaloa state Attorney General's Office said.

Sinaloa state police made the discovery after residents alerted authorities to the presence of a vehicle with its engine running.

It was, however, unclear whether the murder was related to the journalistic activities of his father.

Several of El Debate's bureaus have been targets of shootings and grenade attacks.
