Puttur, Jun 19: Kabaddi team of St Philomena College won runners-up Trophy (Mangaluru-Udupi zone) in the Mangalore University inter-zone kabaddi tournament ,2022- 23 for the prestigeous Dharmasthala Rathnavarma Heggade Trophy.
The tournament was conducted by the physical education department of Mangalore University in the indoor stadium on synthetic mat. SDM College, Ujire emerged winners. Abdul Nasir and Praveenkumar of III BA, Roopesh IIBSW, Fardeen, Mohammad Sinan and Suhan of II Bcom. Anvesh and Yatheesh of I BCom and Isham of I BCA are the proud players in the team.
Nasir and Suhan exhibited an extraoridinary display of powerful game techniques. The team was trained by Habeeb Mani and able guidance of Elias Pinto, physical education director of the college.
Principal of the College Fr Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro congratulated the players on this achievement.
