Mangaluru: St Agnes PU College holds orientation for first PU students

Mangaluru, Jun 9: St Agnes PU college contributes to the social and intellectual growth of every student passing through its portals. The orientation programme for the first year students was held at St Agnes PU college on June 8 in the college auditorium.

The programme commenced with a prayer song invoking god’s blessings. The programme was conducted in 2 different sessions, first for the students followed by the parents. Students and parents were introduced to the vision and mission of the college and acquainted with rules and regulations of the college through a video.

The toppers of I PU Annual Examination 2023 – Zynah Anjum of PCMC, Athira of BEBA and Alisha Thimmaiah from HEPP shared their experience in the college and exhorted the students to seize every opportunity given by the college. Principal Sr Norine D'Souza briefed the students about the functioning of the college and its activities.

Shobha, lecturer in biology compered the students’ session and welcomed the students. Carol, lecturer in mathematics proposed the vote of thanks. Further orientation was given by the class mentors to the students in their respective classrooms. The students were guided to build a strong foundation for a glorious future.

Hariet, lecturer in Commerce compered the parents’ session. Supriya, lecturer in physics welcomed the gathering and introduced the resource person Dr Caroline D’Souza, a neuropsychiatrist who addressed the audience on the rights of handling their wards and making a positive impact on the young minds. Veena D'Souza, mother of Riona D'Souza of PCBH, Melwin Crasta, father of Abaigail Crasta of SEBA and Bindiya Pereira, mother of Riya Pereira of HEPP shared their experience with this prestigious institution. The principal thanked the parents for being an enthusiastic and patient audience. There was a short demonstration of the college app by Shubhavani, a lecturer in computer science. Joanne, lecturer in English proposed the vote of thanks.
