Mangaluru: Yenepoya School celebrates World Environment Day

Mangaluru, Jun 7: The students of The Yenepoya School celebrated World Environment Day on Monday, June 5 at the school campus with great enthusiasm and zeal. Students of NEP 1, 2 and 3 engaged themselves in a variety of events.

Special assemblies were conducted by students who were mentored by their respective teachers and excellence managers. The principal and chief academic officer were present for the occasion.

Students of grades 1 and 2 were shown videos and had collage making activity. Students of grade 3 to 5 had activities where they planted seeds, made placards and collages to show how much they care about mother earth. Students of grade 6 to 8 highlighted the theme of this year's World Environment Day, which was 'Ecosystem Restoration'.

The students were dressed in green costumes and carried posters and placards, spreading the message of environmental conservation. As part of the celebrations, the students also organized a tree plantation drive in the school premises. They planted saplings and pledged to take care of them. Overall, the programme was a great success and served as a reminder to all to take responsibility and do one's part in protecting the environment. It was an excellent opportunity for students to learn about environmental conservation and ways to contribute towards a better planet.
