Mangaluru: St Agnes High School celebrates ‘World Environment Day’

Mangaluru, Jun 5: On Monday, June 5, Eco Club members of St Agnes High School, Bendore celebrated ‘World Environment Day’ enthusiastically.

The programme began with a prayer service where students prayed for the various needs of the organisms of the environment.

Hina of IX B welcomed the gathering. Students of the Eco Club performed a rhythmic dance, depicting the beauty of nature. Skit was performed on the importance of the ozone layer which gave awareness on the destruction of the ozone layer. Preethi and Kamakshi of XA recited the poem on mother earth in Kannada. 

All the eco-club members sang a song on how the changes occur in nature and how one can protect it for survival. The headmistress Sr Gloria A C gave a message on destruction in the environment and as students how one can protect mother earth. She highlighted the theme of Environment Day 2023 'Beat the Plastic' and gave a call to all to reduce the use of plastics.

Bhoomika of XB compered the programme. The programme concluded the vote of thanks proposed by Sheethal of IXB.
