Puttur: Inauguration of new academic year held at St Philomena PU College

Puttur, Jun 2: The inauguration of the new academic year was held at St Philomena PU College. 

The president, Fr Lawrence Mascarenhas, correspondent, Mai De Deus Educational Institutions in his presidential remarks said that students should trust their parents and have faith in God.

He advised students to help one and another and not to make fun of others. He added, "Our purpose of life is to be happy and happiness comes when we do good to others and work hard to achieve our goals."

The principal, Fr Ashok Rayan Crasta welcomed the students and said that success comes only when there is hardwork along with strong desire. He also instructed the students about the rules and regulations to be followed.

The guest of honour, Fr Stany Pinto, campus director, Philomena Institutions motivated students to have a goal in life and work hard towards the fulfillment to their desired goal.

The guest of honour,  Jerald D'Costa, vice president, parish pastoral council advised students to work hard and achieve great success. He added that the students should respect their parents and not to forget the sacrifices made by them.

The guest of honour, Mamachan Mathew, PTA president said that the students should make the best use of all the opportunities available and come out with flying colours.

Students who scored high marks in SSLC examination were felicitated on the occasion.

The programme was organized by the convenors of students' council, Prashanth Bhat, faculty of chemistry and Philomena Montheiro, Faculty of Commerce.

Bharath G Pai , lecturer in Statistics welcomed the gathering. Suma P R, lecturer in English proposed vote of thanks. Suma D, lecturer in English compered the programme.
