Puttaparthi, Jul 15:  Sri Sathya Sai Baba's Mahasamadhi was unveiled at Prasanthi Nilayam ashram here on Friday July 15.

Located in the Sai Kulwant Hall of the ashram, the mahasamidhi is a rectangular white marble edifice constructed just above where Sai Baba was laid to rest after his demise on April 24.

Devotees have gathered in large numbers to have a glimpse of the mahasamidhi.

The Sathya Sai Central Trust had earlier announced that the mahasamadhi would be built in a grand and befitting manner.

Investigations are still being carried out on into the activities of the Sathya Sai Trust after Rs 35 lac cash had been seized from an ashram vehicle last month.

The trust, however, maintains that financial transparency is being strictly followed and the money seized was given by a devotee for the construction of the samidhi.
