Bengaluru: Alliance University Central Campus holds Annual Alumni Meet

Bengaluru, May 26: The Office of Alumni Relations and Alliance Alumni Association hosted the Annual Alumni Meet at the Alliance University Central Campus on Saturday, May 20. The event was full of fun and learning activities for all the participants. Alumni along with their family and friends attended the Meet and partook in various events through the day.

The meet kicked off with ‘Elevate and Express’, where teams comprising current students and alumni showcased their innovative concepts and outlined their financial and mentoring needs to a panel of investors and mentors such as: M S Vivin Kumar, Consulting Partner, S&N Consultants; Arun Kottalgi, Business Coach, Quantum Leap; Kiran Joshi, Co-founder & COO, Skandish Ventures; Ashirwad B R, CEO, SBC Buildtech; Navin Koojugodu Kattemane, Launch Director, BNI Global; Ashith B, Co-founder & CEO, Bizotic; Nisha Dhanuka, Co-founder, QINFIN Consulting; and Harikrishnan Ramakrishnan, Founder & CEO, WeAssist.

Afterwards, the Alliance Alumni Association held its inaugural Annual General Body Meeting. During this meeting, the Association's report for the year 2022-23 was presented, highlighting the achievements, initiatives, and milestones reached over the past year. Members of the Association had the opportunity to review and discuss the report, providing valuable insights and feedback for future endeavours.

In the afternoon, a series of enriching sessions took place that had accomplished alumni as presenters. Students, faculty & staff members, and other alumni participated in the sessions. Details of the sessions are as follows.

Panel Discussion on 'The State of AI in Workforce': Esteemed panellists, including Varsha Singh, Sr director - People Analytics & APAC Business Partner, Epsilon; Krishna Prasad Rangarajan, vice president - Operations, JPMorgan Chase & Co.; Harsha Bhosale, Diversity Recruiting Leader - Japan & Asia Pacific, Oracle; Ashwin Singh, Head of Talent Acquisition & People Operations, Suki; and Avinash Mysore Nagraj, Engagement Partner, Aera Technology; engaged in a thought-provoking discussion on the profound impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the workforce. The panellists explored the opportunities and challenges presented by AI technologies and shared valuable insights into the evolving landscape of the workplace.

Workshop on Personal Branding: Dr Ray Titus, professor at Alliance School of Business and a renowned expert in personal branding, and Naveen Kattemane, launch director, BNI Global conducted a highly informative workshop on creating a powerful personal brand. Attendees learned strategies to differentiate themselves and effectively communicate their unique value proposition, setting them apart from the crowd in today's competitive professional landscape.

Startup Accelerator: Professor Sai Chittaranjan, professor at IIM Bengaluru, led a session focused on nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit and accelerating the growth of promising startups. Through interactive discussions and practical guidance, participants gained valuable insights into various aspects of startup development, including ideation, business models, funding opportunities, and market strategies.

Alumni Entrepreneur Showcase: Attendees had the privilege of hearing inspiring success stories of alumni who have embarked on entrepreneurial journeys. These alumni shared their experiences, challenges faced, and lessons learned, motivating others to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams and make a meaningful impact in their respective industries. The event had successful Alliance alumni who have achieved great heights in their professional life by becoming an entrepreneur come together and share their journeys.

The next event featured AlumSprouts, a special segment dedicated to celebrating the talent and brilliance of the children of Alliance alumni. Through captivating performances, these talented young individuals showcased their skills in various fields such as music, dance, theatre, and more, leaving the audience mesmerized and proud of their achievements.

The central events of the Annual Alumni Meet 2023 started later in the evening with the welcome address by Surekha Shetty, senior director, Office of Admissions, Career Advancement and Networking and Alumni Relations; following which the chief guest of the event Sharmiela Mandre, an actor and producer, was welcomed by Abhay G. Chebbi, pro-chancellor, Alliance University. Mandre expressed her happiness towards participating in a grand event and wished Alliance and its alumni the best. The pro-chancellor in his address congratulated alumni for their achievements and later Dr. Anubha Singh, vice chancellor, Alliance University addressed the gathering.

Ranjana Sagar, vice president, Alliance Alumni Association made the presidential address and briefed the audience about the activities of the Association in the last one year. Followed by which, Ashith B, secretary, Alliance Alumni Association invited the university leadership on stage to launch the webpage of Alliance Alumni Association Corporate Social Responsibility (AAA CSR). Summary of the alumni day activities was made by Harikrishnan Ramakrishnan, Treasurer, Alliance Alumni Association.

Vote of thanks was proposed by Pavithra B, joint secretary, Alliance Alumni Association for the Annual Alumni Meet, wherein the the events provided a platform for networking, knowledge-sharing, and inspiration. Attendees had the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, learn from industry experts, and gain valuable insights into emerging trends and opportunities. The events highlighted the entrepreneurial spirit, innovation, and achievements of the Alliance community, fostering a sense of pride and celebration.
