Daijiworld Media Network – Bantwal (EP)

Bantwal, May 24: There is an NDFC counter at the municipal council office for residents to make payments for water bills and taxes within the council limits. Initially, the counter was refusing to accept Rs 2,000 currency notes from the residents. Former Buda president B Devadas Shetty encountered this issue and expressed his frustration, confronting the manager. However, the counter has now started accepting the Rs 2,000 currency notes.

On the morning of May 24, many individuals who brought Rs 2,000 currency notes were turned away. Even Devadas Shetty faced the same situation when he attempted to make a tax payment. As he condemned this action and expressed his dissatisfaction, he called for the bank manager.

The bank manager arrived at the location and instructed his senior officers to accept the currency notes. From that point onwards, the currency notes were accepted from all residents.

Speaking to reporters, Devadas Shetty stated that the bank's refusal to accept the currency notes was a violation of RBI guidelines, causing inconvenience to many people.
