Udupi: Exhibition of acrylic paintings of deities to be held at Aditi Art Gallery from May 25

Udupi, May 22: An exhibition of acrylic paintings of gods and goddesses drawn by artist Pravina Mohan will be held at the Aditi Art Gallery here from May 25 to 28.

Managing trustee of the gallery Dr Kiran Acharya said on Monday that Pravina Mohan, inspired by senior artists, has drawn more than 24 paintings.

“The exhibition will be inaugurated by Moodbidri Alvas Institute president Dr Mohan Alva at 5 pm on May 25. Ajay P Shetty, managing director of Ujwal group will be the chief guest. Narendra Shenoy, proprietor of Mangaluru-based Lamin Frames will release the sticker,” he said.

 

Artiste Pravina Mohan was present at the press meet.

The exhibition will be held between 11 am and 7 pm from May 26 to May 28. Books by Astro Mohan titled Pictorial Journey to Udupi – Manipal and A day with the science about Pejavar Vishweshatheertha Sripada will be sold at 50% discount at the venue.

Pravina Mohan is a well-known drawing artist. She has drawn historic pictures, water coloured, charcoal, fabric, pot painting, dot painting, acrylic painting, etc since her childhood. She is also a Bharathanatya artiste. She has been working as an arts teacher at Camlin company. She had drawn the golden jubilee banner of Udupi MGM College.

Pravina Mohan who upholds the statement that there is no age limit for art learnt Persian and Thanjavur drawings and is training her students. Several organisations have felicitated her and given away awards and prizes. She also received the Upadyaya Samman award recently. She is the wife of senior photographer Astro Mohan.
