Udupi: Prioritise providing drinking water for rural areas – MLA Yashpal Suvarna

Udupi, May 20: MLA of Udupi constituency Yashpal Suvarna held meeting of PDO and engineers of Udupi with regards to the drinking water supply at the panchayat auditorium.

Suvarna got detailed information about the present circumstances and instructed the panchayat development officers to take steps to provide drinking water in rural areas.

He suggested to supply drinking water through tanker till the monsoon begins and make necessary administrative and financial arrangements for the same.

Suvarna also asked the concerned officers to remove silt from the storm water drains, maintenance of street lights and removal of dangerous trees.

The MLA also instructed the officials to give specific time on three days to listen to the woes of public and respond to their grievances.

CEO of taluk panchayat Vijaya, CEO of Brahmavar taluk panchayat Ibrahimpoor, assistant executive engineer Venkatesh Murthy, Mahendra Neelavara, Aroor Panchayat president Mahendra Neelavara, Mamatha Shetty, Rekha Bhat, Nagaveni and engineers were present.
