Bantwal, May 17: Rajiv Gandhi Panchayat Raj organisation district chief secretary Jagadish Koila has called for legal action to be taken against illegal storage of cement that is not meant for sale at the residence of BJP leader. He alleged that two houses were constructed using the cement.

Speaking in a news conference at the B C Road Press Club, he said that a team under the leadership of Tahsildar had raided and taken into custody 21 bags of cement at Pallamajalu, B Mooda grama during the construction of a house for a private person.

“The house under construction belongs to a relative of a BJP leader. 30 bags of cement was taken into custody during the raids at the residence of BJP leader in Arala. The empty cement bags were burnt after the cement was used. The cement was meant to be used for road works. Officials should conduct an impartial inquiry and expose the scam. The concerned should be suitably punished,” he urged.

Bantwal block Congress president Baby Kunder, backward class committee district vice-president Padmanabha Samanth and Bantwal block Congress president Suresh Jora were present.
