Mangaluru, May 16: MLA UT Khader said, “I thank the public for voting the Congress that has gained majority in the state in the recently concluded elections. The election was between truth and lies, right information and misinformation. Congress will work for development and maintaining peace and harmony in the state.”

Addressing media on Tuesday May 16 he further said, “The public have showed faith in the Congress. Te voters have shown the consequences of pain thorough their votes as the BJP indulged into hatred politics, anti-people schemes, price rise and many more.

“I also thank the people of my constituency for voting me and electing me as the MLA for the fifth time.

“We will review the result of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi. We will gain the confidence of people to regain the lost seats in the twin districts. We will show the difference between the administration of the Congress and BJP in the coming days of our tenure,” he said.

On the SDPI candidate gaining more votes, Khader said, “In 2013, I got a lead of 29,000, in 2018 it was a direct fight where I gained 19,000 lead and in 2023 I secured 4000 additional votes. Politics is not mathematics, politics is reaction but their reaction has gained benefit. Now after forming the government, we will work for people.”

He also said, “We will continue to work and complete the incomplete works of the BJP. We will not be biased to any community and distribute funds equally as the Congress will not hurt any community. Our priority will be to implement the guarantee schemes which were announced by us. We will also look into the coastal manifesto which was announced earlier.”

Corporator Shashidhar Hegde, Congress leaders Ibrahim Kodijal, Sahul Hameed, K Monu, Kavitha Sanil, Mamatha Gatty, Shalet Pinto, Sadashiv Ullal and others were present.
