Beltangady: Man saves son, wife from drowning, meets watery grave

Beltangady, May 16: A man met a watery grave as he saved his wife and son from drowning in Netravati river near Dharmasthala on Monday May 16.

The deceased is identified as Krishnappa Gowda (52), a native of Hassan Haralahalli. He had got down into the Netravati river to have a bath along with his wife and son. Both his wife and son began to drown. Krishnappa pulled both of them up from the water but accidentally fell into the river and died.

A disaster management team helped in retrieving the body of Krishnappa from the river. Dharmasthala police have registered a case in this connection.
