Mangaluru: Mixed gravel falls on the road from concrete mixer lorry, locals take driver to task

Mangaluru, May 9: As cement mixed gravel has been falling from concrete mixer lorry for the last two days, two wheeler riders met with accidents and got injured here. The incident happened near Ajjanakatte cross, Kuthar. The local people who were anguished took to task the driver of the lorry.

The nearby shop keepers had cleaned the spot so that it may not pose a threat to two wheeler riders. Yet two riders had met with accidents yesterday and one person lost balance and fell today. A tense situation prevailed for some time as people gathered.

Assistant police commissioner Dhanya Nayak visited the spot and prevented the gathering of crowd as section 144 is in force. She said that a case will be registered against the lorry driver if a complaint is filed and she will direct the traffic police to take suitable action.
