Beltangady: Fire erupts at Pangala reserve forest, grass on 15 meter area burnt down

Beltangady, May 9: Fire erupted suddenly by the road side of Pangala, on a reserve forest near Netravati on Monday May 8.

Dry grass on an area of 15 meters was burnt due to the fire. Fire service personnel, forest department staff and locals brought the fire under control.

If the fire would have carried on for some time it would have engulfed a lot of forest resources.

However, due to the timely effort and operation by the fire service personnel, it was put off immediately.
