Bantwal, May 8: A sea of people attended the road show of Congress candidate B Ramanath Rai on Monday, May 8 as the campaign drew to a close. Congress flags could be seen everywhere on B C Road.

Ramanath Rai's well wishers and party workers walked on the main road till the podium that was erected near Polali Dwara for the last day's campaign.

B Ramanath Rai said he is not contesting for a luxurious life but to serve the people. “You have elected me six times and made me a MLA and a minister. You have given me an opportunity to contest again. I can never repay this debt. I was defeated last time due to false propaganda. I too have difficulties. I stress on sincerity and a corruption free life.  I am not a businessman and I am not in politics to grow any business,” he said.

Rajasthan Congress leader Abid Kagzi, senior leader B H Khader, Ashwani Kumar Rai, KPCC member Pius L Rodrigues, Chandraprakash Shetty, Bantwal block president Baby Kunder, Panemangalore block president Sudeep Kumar Shetty, campaign committee president Umesh Safalya and others were present.
