Mangaluru, May 8: Compromise was struck between SDPI activists and the Congress party at Konaje police station over the matter of assault of the driver of the Congress campaign vehicle during SDPI rally. Police released the SDPI activist who was taken into custody.

The Congress workers had gathered at the Konaje police station urging the cops to immediately arrest the SDPI activists who attacked Naufal, driver of the Congress campaign vehicle at Natekal. Police arrested the SDPI activist on whom the Congress workers accused of manhandling Naufal. Leaders of both Congress and SDPI discussed the issue till 2 am on May 8 and agreed to resolve the matter through compromise. Later, the arrested SDPI activist was released.
