Udupi district Congress holds massive bike rally for candidate Prasadraj Kanchan

Udupi, May 8: District Congress committee held a bike rally in favour of campaigning for their candidate Prasadraj Kanchan and also held a convention in front of Kalmady church.

The rally which included scores of Congress workers began from Padutonse Ram Bhajana Mandir and reached Kalmady church via Hoode, Gujjarabettu, Thottam, Vadabandeshwara, highway and Elooru Mogaveera Bhavana.

Speaking at the meeting youth leader Niketh Raj Maurya said, “If people of lowest strata of society are holding powerful positions, it is the contribution of our constitution. If constitution remains, the Congress will survive. The BJP is going to sell Malpe port to Adani or Ambani one day.

“The present BJP government had levied 14% tax on ambulance during corona pandemic. It has taxed even eggs and insurance. Congress is speaking about life. In order to prevent the suicide of educated unemployed youth, the party has announced Rs 3000 monthly pay out. 164000 youths have committed suicide throughout India due to unemployment.

“If purchasing power of people increases in the country, it means that the administration of the country is in the hands of good people,” he said.

Pratapan, Gafoor, Prakhyath Shetty, Ramesh Kanchan, Sharath and Veronica Cornelio were present.
