Sullia: Retired teacher drowns in river

Sullia, May 2: A man, who went to the Payaswini river on Sunday April 30 morning to have a bath, was found dead in the evening on the same day. This incident occurred at Aramboor of Aletty village in the taluk.

The deceased is identified as Dinesh (65), resident of Aramboor Majigundi. He was a retired teacher.

Dinesh had left home on the morning of Sunday saying that he will return after having a bath. However, as Dinesh did not return even after two hours, the family members began searching for him. Local people also joined in the search as they got the news.

The mortal remains of Dinesh were found floating in a river near Majigundi. Inmates of a nearby house saw the body and informed the Sullia police. Local calamity handling team and others brought the body up from the river.

It is said that Dinesh was suffering from mental illness for some days. He is survived by wife.
