Udupi: Hejmady panchayat member Roshan joins Congress along with hundreds of followers

Udupi, May 1: Hundreds of youths joined the Congress party under the leadership of Hejmady grama panchayat independent member Roshan.

Roshan who joined the Congress party in a youth Congress meeting held at the Kaup Rajiv Bhavan said that they had joined the party after getting impressed seeing the sincere and spotless politician Vinay Kumar Sorake.

“While there is 40% government under the leadership of BJP in the state, there is 20% BJP government at Hejmady panchayat. Bribe was demanded from me even for getting an NOC. Corruption is rampant in panchayat as well. The work of villagers who elected me as an independent is not getting performed. Therefore, my friends and I have joined the Congress party. Our team will work for the victory of Sorake by a huge margin from today itself,” he said.

Creative pro society activist Farzana Kaup from Kaup also joined the Congress party today. Vinay Kumar Sorake assured all the party workers of starting an industrial area and providing jobs to at least one member of a family.           

KPCC secretary Rajashekar Kotian, Deviprasad Shetty Belapu, KPCC convener Navinchandra J Shetty, KPCC convener Abdul Azeez, State fisheries Congress committee secretary Akhilesh Kotian, district Congress fisheries committee president Vishwas Ameen, campaign committee president Jithendra Furtado, Kaup block youth Congress president Rameez Hussain, Mahila Congress president Shakuntala Shetty, district Congress vice-president Y Sukumar, Dalit leader Shekar Hejmady, Kaup block backward class group president Deepak Ermal were present.

Santhosh Padubidri compered the programme and rendered the vote of thanks.
