Mangaluru: St Joseph feast celebrated at Jeppu Church

Media Release

Mangaluru, Mar 21: St Joseph's feast was celebrated on March 20 on the occasion of the feast of the patron of the universal church, the Diocese of Mangalore and the Jeppu church.

Fr Praveen Leo Lasrado, the rector of minor seminary, Gladsome Home, presided over the eucharistic celebration. In his homily, he presented the seven virtues of St Joseph from the apostolic letter, patris corde “With a Father's Heart”, written by Pope Francis which describes St Joseph as a beloved, tender, loving, obedient and an accepting father; a father who is creatively courageous, a working father, a father in the shadows.

A special prayer was offered for all the fathers, who dedicate their lives like St Joseph to protect the families.

Fr Ronald Serrao, the rector of St Joseph’s seminary was present for the celebration. The well-wishers and benefactors were honoured by the parish priest Fr Maxim D'Souza. A large number of devotees participated in the festal celebration. All were served snacks and a fresh lime juice prepared by Olwin Miranda, the vice president of Jeppu Parish.
