Bantwal, Mar 21: “People who went behind assurances given by the BJP government have come to know the reality. When the Siddaramaiah government was ruling, excellent works were done in all constituencies. The Congress government has fulfilled 97% of the assurances given in the election manifesto. Voters should give me, who has not done anything wrong, one more opportunity to serve them,” said former minister Ramanath Rai.

Rai spoke at the Prajadhwani programme that was held at Kanyana on Saturday.

Ramanath further said, “I brought a grant of Rs 56 crore for underground drainage system for Bantwal in 2017. The BJP government did not implement the same. They did not complete projects of Benjanapadavu stadium, Panje Mangeshraya Bhavan and Padil DC office. This useless government, which has stopped Rs 5000 aid that was given for funerals, is ruling now.

“If I am elected as an MLA, I will construct a new building for Kanyana degree college, district level stadium at an estimated cost of Rs 100 crore at Benjanapadavu, engineering college at Bantwal and underarm cricket stadium for sure.”

Bharat Mundodi, president of the district Congress campaigning committee said, “We have to follow our religion and honour other religions also. Victory of Ramanath Rai, will be victory of every Congress party worker of the district. Outstation state people call us fools for electing an MP, who says not to worry about the underground drainage system, three times. The achievement of BJP vis a vis that of Ramanath Rai is negligible.”

Pius Rodrigues, Mohammed, Chandraprakash, Subhashchandra, Usman Karopadi, Abbas Ali, Baby Kunder and others were present.
