Udupi: Samata Sainika Dala calls for protest in front of minister Kota Poojary's residence

Udupi, Mar 20: “Protests will be held in front of the residence of minister Kota Srinivas Poojary till official announcement of the payment of Rs seven lac each for constructing houses under Ambedkar Awaz project and directions to that effect are issued to the concerned gram panchayats,” warned Samata Sainika Dala district president Vishwanath Petri.

Speaking in a news conference at Udupi he said that the Rs 29 thousand crore package is approved under SC SP/TSP. We had requested the chief minister to increase to Rs seven lac the amount provided to construct houses. It has not been implemented yet. It indicates the failure of the minister of social welfare. Rs 29 thousand crore are dumped to Varahi project and Rs eight lacs each are being provided to dig borewells at some places. What is the need of Rs eight lac when the cost will not exceed more than two lac? Instead of donating auto rickshaws for self-employment to the SC / ST community, the minister is issuing bikes to college boys for the proposed bike rally in the future. Minister Kota has become the puppet of MLA Raghupati Bhat, alleged Vishwanath Petri.

District chief secretary Srinivas Nadoor, ladies wing district president Jyothi Shiriara, organising secretary Vignesh Brahmavar and Hebri unit’s Subrahmanya were present.
